Blanchester’s Mulvihill Named District DPOY

Linebacker Michael Mulvihill of Blanchester has been named the 2022 OPSWA Division V Southwest District Defensive Player of the Year. The sophomore was a beast on both sides of the ball for the Wildcats. On defense, he tallied 105 total tackles, had a sack, eight tackles for losses and two interceptions. On offense, Mulvihill threw for 1,154 yards, ran for 1,415 yards with 20 rushing and 12 passing touchdowns. Those numbers also earned Mulvihill Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors in the SBAAC National Division. Blanchester finished the season 8-4 and recorded the schools first-ever road playoff win.
