Marshall, Hartford, Roden honored in Division I

Moeller running back Jordan Marshall has been named the 2022 OPSWA Division I Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year. The junior has run for 1,621 yards, averaged 8.1 yards per carry, caught 17 passes for 308 yards and found the end zone 29 times (25 rush, four rec) in 12 games for the 12-1 Crusaders. Marshall topped the 100-yard mark rushing 10 times in what is considered the ninth toughest schedule in the country. Marshall’s offers include Ohio State, Michigan, most of the Big 10 schools, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Stanford, Duke, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, South Carolina and Syracuse.
Malik Hartford, a lock down defensive back from Lakota West was named the OPSWA Division I Southwest District Defensive Player of the Year. The senior has been an integral part of a Firebirds defense that has given up just 7.8 points per game on their way to 13-0 record and a second consecutive appearance in the Division I, Region 4 regional finals. Hartford is committed to Ohio State.
Justin Roden from Oak Hills was named the OPSWA Division I Southwest District Coach of the Year. Roden guided the Highlanders to a 5-5 regular season and a spot in the playoffs. It was the most wins for the school since 2013.
