Dayton Round-Up: Valley View upends Eaton again

For the 11th time in the last 12 years Valley View topped Eaton. Down 14-0 in the Valley View answered with 21 unanswered points and headed into halftime with a 21-14 advantage behind the play of seniors Caden Henson and Micah Valenti.
Late in the third quarter Eaton would cut the deficit to one, on a pass from Aaron Rogers to Conner Bach. That would be as close as the Eagles would get.
The Spartans answered with rushing touchdowns by Caleb Musgrove and Jed Lynch in the fourth quarter. It gave Valley View its largest lead at 15-points, 35-20 with five minutes left in the contest. Cordis Berard would but off a 67-yard touchdown run for Eaton but it wouldn’t be enough. Berard finished the night with a game high 119 yards rushing.
Valenti ended the evening with 105 yards on the ground, a touchdown catch, six total tackles and an interception for the victors.

The loss ended the Buccaneers 14-game regular season winning streak. Junior running back Kaiden Bates rand for a career best 157 yards with two touchdowns for the victors.

WAYNESVILLE 45, OAKWOOD 14 – Junior quarterback Alex Amburgy went 17-20 for 293 yards through the air with two passing and one rushing touchdown as Waynesville (4-1, 2-0) knocked off Oakwood (2-3, 0-2) for its fourth straight win. Connor Berrey had five receptions for 169 yards and a pair of scores. He also kicked a 30-yard field goal for the victors. Junior Garrett Lundy ran for three touchdowns for the second time in the last three games.
