The second half was much of the same for the Highlands’ offense. Benke started the half with two more rushing scores to blow the game open. Later he found Nate Surrey for a 23-yard score to produce the final margin.
Highlands finished the night with 453 rushing yards and moved to 6-1, including 2-0 in district play with the win.
NO. 25 COOPER 41, CONNER 7
Cooper led 28-0 at the half and never looked back as they raced past Conner by a score of 41-7 on Friday night. Cooper got scores from many on their way to victory. Ryker Campbell got things started with a 4-yard score. Keegan Maher then got rolling a bit on his own. He would score the next three touchdowns from 2, 17, and 40 yards out to produce the halftime lead.
In the second half, Austin Alexander had a 50-yard touchdown reception and would later follow that up with a 12-yard touchdown reception to produce the final margin. Wyatt Hatfield returned a fumble four yards for the long Conner score.
NO. 17 BEECHWOOD 53, WALTON-VERONA 3
Beechwood continued their huge offensive outputs as they dismantled Walton-Verona on Friday night. The high octane passing attack was hitting on all cylinders as the Tigers did whatever they wanted as they moved up and down the field all night long.
