CINCINNATI, Oh. – A fourth-quarter comeback by the Taft Senators helped to keep their 2024 season unblemished.

Hosting Chaminade Julienne at Stargel Stadium in Cincinnati’s West End, the Senators found themselves relying primarily on defense, and scraping together just enough offense, to edge by the game Eagles by a score of 21-7.

Taft found itself in a hole early, trailing 7-0 to the Eagles in the first quarter, but were able to dent the end zone and draw within one, 7-6, at halftime.

The offenses for both squads sputtered in the second half, with Chaminade Julienne entering the fourth quarter with that 7-6 lead and nothing working, offensively, for Taft.

But the Senators found the endzone one more time, taking a 12-7 lead in the fourth quarter, and their defense – impressive in Week One in a 43-0 shellacking of the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers – held on to give Taft the victory.

Taft moves to 2-0 on the season, while Chaminade Julienne drops to 1-1.
