Wayne rocks Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Ohio – Using solid play from both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, Wayne easily toppled Fairfield for their first win of the 2024 campaign.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Warriors opened their scoring for the new season with a 35-yard field goal off the leg of senior Carson Limberg. Wayne proceeded to regain possession of the football and threaten to go up two scores, until Fairfield took the ball away and scored on a 99-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown by Mason Gatto.

The sudden score by the Indians didn’t phase Wayne, however, as the Warriors ran all over the Fairfield defense, to the tune of 420 total yards rushing. Senior quarterback Teaunn Hunter racked up 181 yards rushing, including a 73-yard rushing touchdown in addition to 82 yards and a touchdown through the air.
