KETTERING, Ohio – After an uncharacteristic 0-2 start to the 2024 football season, the Badin Rams now appear to be hitting their stride as the postseason nears.

In a slugfest Friday night, the Rams won their sixth straight game after the 0-2 start – and 25th consecutive Greater Catholic League Co-Ed game – 13-10 over GCL Co-ed rival Alter.

Badin jumped to an early 6-0 lead on the back of a 65-yard punt return for a TD by Lemuel Grayson in the first quarter, followed in the second quarter with the Rams recovering a fumble deep inside Knight territory. Badin capitalized on the turnover, with Colt Emerson hitting wideout Larkyn King on a 31-yard TD pass and a 13-0 halftime lead. It was a half that saw Badin’s defense hold Alter to  a paltry 30 yards of offense.

The second half saw a role reversal, with the Badin offense stalling and the Knight offense showing some life, with QB Finn Freshwater scampering for a 4-yard TD to pull them within 6.  An Alter interception put them inside the Badin 15-yard line, but the Ram defense stiffened and held the Knights to a 24-yard field goal by Jayden Mowbrey, making it 13-10 with 8 minutes left in regulation. Alter had a chance to tie it late, but a 30-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Badin.
