Clinton-Massie bullies Batavia
- Updated: October 19, 2024

CLARKSVILLE, oh – In a battle of the two top dogs in the SBAAC, Clinton-Massie used a onslaught of rushing on the Bulldogs defense en route to their fourth win in conference play, earning them at least a share of the title and a favorable seed in the upcoming OHSAA playoffs.
All season, Clinton-Massie’s offensive calling card has been the rush game, averaging around 45 rushing attempts per game through the first eight contests of the season. The surprising Batavia Bulldogs were looking to put a stop to the Falcons rushers and cement themselves as the team to beat.
It didn’t take long for Clinton-Massie to quickly change that mindset.
Falcons senior running back Cooper Carmack was lighting in a bottle for Clinton-Massie, slicing right through the Bulldogs defense to the tune of 148 yards rushing in the first half alone. Sophomore Peyton Warren tacked on an additional 110 yards rushing through the first two quarters. Carmack had three total touchdowns, with two on the ground and one receiving. Warren tacked on two additional rushing touchdowns of his own.
At halftime, the total domination by the Falcons was on full display. They went into the break with a whopping 41-0 lead, holding Batavia to just 63 yards of total offense, in comparison to Clinton-Massie’s 392. The Bulldogs played without star receiver Max Mehlman, and were unable to create any offense against the suffocating Falcons defense.
With the running clock rolling, Clinton-Massie was able to cruise to an easy conference victory, 41-8 over Batavia. The Falcons will head into the final week of the regular season with their eyes on yet another SBAAC conference title.
