Simon Kenton pulls away from Campbell County late
- Updated: October 19, 2024
ALEXANDRIA, KY – After struggling offensively the past few weeks, the Simon Kenton Pioneers used their offense to easily roll past rival Campbell County, 48-29.
Throughout the contest, the Pioneers were able to easily control the clock by using a potent passing attack to amass 24 total first downs on the night. Senior quarterback Brady Lee took to the skies often and with great success throughout the game, throwing for a whopping 380 yards and accounted for five touchdowns (three pass, two rush). Simon Kenton amassed 510 yards of total offense, 411 of them were from Lee’s arm and legs.
Lee’s top targets were Grayson Harris who had nine receptions for 168 yards and a pair of scores. Teammate Tysin Weaver hade eight catches for 141 yards and a touchdown.
Campbell County didn’t fold over, however. The Camels were able to amass 378 yards of total offense, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Simon Kenton’s onslaught throwing the football. Junior quarterback Lucas Anthrop threw for 2237 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Garyn Jackson reeled in nine balls for 144 yards and two scores. Trevor Bertram racked up 127 yards from scrimmage and found the end zone twice (one rush, one rec).
