WAYNESVILLE, OH – After starting the season 0-2, the Waynesville Spartans have rolled through the rest of their tough schedule, moving to 7-2 after defeating the Eaton Eagles, 42-15. The Spartans held the Eagles to just 151 yards of total offense.

Despite Eaton getting out to an early 12-7 lead, the Spartans were able to battle back with a 21-point second quarter, before icing the game with two late touchdowns in the fourth quarter, moving Waynesville to 5-0 in SWBL conference play.

Heading into the final week of the season, the Spartans are in a tie for the conference title with Valley View High School. Coincidentally, the two top dogs in the SWBL will face off in a winner-takes-all matchup next week as Waynesvile travels to Valley View.

Meanwhile, Eaton still sits in a good spot for the playoffs despite the loss, dropping them to 3-2 in conference play with a 7-2 overall record. That is good enough for sole ownership of third place in the conference, and the Eagles will look to finish off their regular season strong as they host Carlisle.
