LINCOLN CITY, Ind. – Last-minute magic last week helped the Batesville Bulldogs capture their second regional title in school history, and first since 1986, in a 41-37 victory over Tri-City.

Such magic disappeared completely for the Bulldogs Friday night, however, as they were whitewashed 42-0 by Heritage Hills in their effort to reach Indianapolis and the Indiana Class 3A state title game for the first time ever.

The Patriots took it right to Batesville from the opening kickoff, scoring on five of their first six possessions of the game, led by QB Jett Goldsberry with two touchdown runs. Heritage Hills, by halftime, had racked up over  300 yards of offense and a 27-0 lead, resulting in a running clock for the second half of the game.

Wideouts Peyton Gray and Tyler Ruxer both had touchdown catches for the Patriots, as did Hunter Meredith. Goldsberry, on the night, went 9 of 9 for 229 yards and three TD tosses, in addition to his two on the ground.

Batesville never sniffed the end zone, and finished the game with only 226 total yards of offense.

Heritage Hills moves on to the Indiana Class 3A title game for the second consecutive year, and they will face Fort Wayne Luers on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
