He was a special teams assassin and his right leg was his weapon. Centerville kicker Leland Gantz was a thorn in the sides of the Elks opponents over the last two seasons. Gantz followed up a junior campaign in which he was named OPSWA Division I Second Team All-Ohio with a First Team All-Ohio performance as a senior.

A stellar career saw Gantz knock down 12 of his 22 field goals from 40-yards and beyond, with two of those coming from 50-yards out. He went 11-19 on three-pointers in 2024 but six of those eight misses were from 50-yards or longer.

At the varsity level, Gantz went 81/83 on extra point attempts, 22/32 on field goal tries for 147 points. Ninety of his 134 kickoffs went for touchbacks and he averaged 37.4 yards on 101 punts landing 34 of those inside the opponents 20-yard line with a long punt of 75-yards.

Gantz has yet to sign with anyone but has drawn interest from Power 4 schools, Alabama, Ohio State, Stanford and Indiana. He recently visited Western Michigan.
