Lebanon handles West Clermont in ECC clash

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Week 3 took the Blitz 5 tour to Warren County for an ECC showdown between two teams ranked inside of the Blitz 5 Top 25 as Lebanon welcomed West Clermont on their Homecoming Night and the Warriors did not disappoint the home crowd.

Senior quarterback Luke Faler chiseled his way through the West Clermont defense for 296 yards and five touchdowns in the opening half and Warriors never looked back as they rolled past the Wolves, 49-14.

“The maturity is the thing,” head coach Micah Faler said about his quarterback, who is also his son, during his appearance on High School Football Tonight on ESPN 1530 after the game. “Obviously he is a three-year starter and he is playing up to our expectations.”

Wyatt Lassen pulled in two of the TD passes and also reeled in a two-point conversion.

It wasn’t just the offense, the Lebanon defense was equally impressive. They kept a powerful West Clermont rushing attack in check most of the night and came away with some key turnovers, including a pair of pick sixes in the third quarter from Greyson McClure to put the game away.

“We said all week, the battle would be one trenches, ” Faler said when asked about his defense. “They played with such tremendous heart and made the most of the opportunity.
