A rough start to the season had a very rewarding ending that culminated with Milan being named the 2025 TriState Football Indiana Team of the Year, as TSF paid tribute to finest from Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Southeast Indiana area’s high school gridiron at The TriState Football Year in Review Show on Monday night, in front of a packed house at the Holy Grail, downtown Cincinnati.
The Indians headed into Week 7 sitting at 2-4 and coming off their worst loss of the season. Head coach Ryan Langerman got his troops to rally. Milan reeled off five straight victories and captured the school’s second regional title after knocking off reigning Class 1A state champion Providence, 22-7. The only other regional crown for the school came in 1996 when Langferman was a player. Adding to the sweetness of this success was that Langferman has two sons, Grant and Beckett who are on this squad.
Milan was riding high on its five-game winning streak in which they allowed just 7.0 points per contest and no one to score more than 14 on them. The Indians would run into a buzzsaw in their semistate battle against South Putnam. The Eagles prevailed 40-7 over Milan and would go on to win the state title.
Four Indians were named to the 2025 All-MIFC – Grant Langferman, Wyatt Marsh, Micah Norman and Zane Richardson. JJ Muntz and Lukas Hensley were Honorable Mention All-MIFC selections. Richardson (ATH), Langferman (DL) and Hensley (OL) were named IFCA Class 1A Junior All-State. Langferman was named IFCA Class 1A Junior All-State (TE) as a sophomore.
This is the 16th year of this award and first time that Milan has been named the TSF Indiana Team of the Year.
