Week 4 delivered everything from triple-overtime drama and milestone victories to statement wins by some of the Tri-State’s top-ranked teams. Here’s a look around the area at the biggest results, standout performances and storylines from another memorable Friday night of high school football.
CHL DELIVERS TRIPLE OVERTIME THRILLER
Wyoming Survives Indian Hill in Instant Classic
In the game of the night, Wyoming survived Indian Hill in an instant classic, 48-47 in triple overtime, to remain unbeaten at 4-0. The Cowboys led for most of the night, but Devlan Daniel repeatedly brought the Braves back, including a 25-yard touchdown run with 1:39 left in regulation that helped force overtime.
The drama only intensified from there. Both teams traded touchdowns through the first two overtimes before Tyler Johnson-Huff scored on a 7-yard run to give Wyoming a 48-41 advantage in the third. Daniel immediately answered with a 20-yard touchdown run, and Indian Hill elected to go for two and the victory. Wyoming’s defense stopped the option attempt, setting off the celebration and giving the Cowboys some revenge for last season’s loss to the Braves.
Johnson-Huff scored four rushing touchdowns and made a crucial fourth-quarter fumble recovery, while Daniel accounted for five touchdowns, rushing for four and throwing another in a remarkable performance.

CINCINNATI
No. 2 Elder 35, No. 13 La Salle 0
Elder continued its dominant start, shutting out La Salle, 35-0, in the GCL South opener at The Pit. Senior quarterback Kaden Estep threw three touchdown passes, including a 72-yarder to Chase Walpole and two scores to Jake Bier. Andrew Tallen and Kam Bedel added rushing touchdowns as the Panthers improved to 4-0. Elder has now beaten four teams that entered their matchup ranked in the Blitz 5 Top 15, with all four victories coming by at least 32 points.

No. 6 Anderson 52, No. 16 Lebanon 13
Anderson overwhelmed Lebanon in a battle of ranked ECC contenders, exploding for 45 first-half points on its way to a 52-13 victory. Quarterback Owen Scalf was nearly flawless, unofficially completing 22-of-24 passes for 416 yards and three touchdowns in the first half alone as the Raptors triggered a running clock. Tysin Weaver had a monster night, catching touchdown passes of 81, 43 and 63 yards and finishing with roughly 200 receiving yards. Jeremiah Glenn added two rushing touchdowns for Anderson, which improved to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the ECC. The Raptors have not lost an ECC game since September 2023.
POSTGAME RADIO INTERVIEW: Evan Dreyer, Anderson
No. 7 Winton Woods 45, Turpin 7
Winton Woods stayed perfect in ECC play with a dominant 45-7 victory over Turpin. Quarterback Josiiah Jones threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers, while the Warriors’ defense forced three turnovers, including a Mario Colbert pick-six. Christian Coston added his fourth interception of the season as Winton Woods improved to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the ECC.
No. 9 Middletown 21, No. 15 Oak Hills 14
Kolby Morgerson accounted for all three Middletown touchdowns as the Middies bounced back from their first loss of the season with a hard-fought GMC victory. Morgerson threw touchdown passes of 31 yards to Ka’Leem Taylor and 48 yards to Elijah (EJ) Jones, while adding a 1-yard rushing score. Oak Hills erased an early 14-0 deficit before halftime, getting touchdown passes from Brecken Hilsinger to Derion Kidd and Lincoln Schreiber to Cordell Ball. Morgerson’s 48-yard strike to Jones in the third quarter proved to be the difference as neither team scored in the fourth. Morgerson finished 15-of-27 for 194 yards and two touchdowns as the Middies improved to 3-1.
No. 23 Harrison 22, No. 12 Withrow 13
Harrison rallied from a six-point fourth-quarter deficit to knock off No. 12 Withrow, 22-13, and improve to 4-0. Brady Lawhon threw touchdown passes to Christian Roether and Kyle Davidson, including the go-ahead 32-yard strike to Davidson in the fourth quarter. Jack Denier sealed the victory with a goal-line-to-goal-line pick-six with just over three minutes remaining.

NORTHERN KENTUCKY
No. 10 Highlands 41, Boyle County 21
Highlands snapped Boyle County’s 15-game winning streak in dominant fashion, delivering one of the biggest statements of Week 4. The Bluebirds controlled the game from the start, racing to a 28-0 halftime lead while outgaining the Rebels 207-32 over the opening 24 minutes. Bryce Armstrong scored twice in the first half, including a 33-yard touchdown run, while Tayden Lorenzen added a 12-yard rushing score. Colt Kremer scored twice in the second half as Highlands stretched the lead to 41-7 before Boyle added two late touchdowns. The Bluebirds improved to 3-1 with the impressive victory.
No. 22 Beechwood 41, Simon Kenton 0
Noel Rash reached a major coaching milestone as Beechwood remained unbeaten with another dominant performance. The Tigers’ 41-0 victory gave Rash his 200th career win, improving his career record to 200-53. Beechwood improved to 3-0, has outscored its opponents 124-3 and has now scored at least 40 points in 12 consecutive games. Rash, already the winningest coach in Beechwood history and an eight-time state champion, returned to lead the Tigers this season after spending 2025 at Conner.
FRIDAY NIGHT STARS
Tyler Johnson-Huff, Wyoming: Scored four rushing touchdowns and recovered a critical fourth-quarter fumble in Wyoming’s 48-47 triple-overtime thriller over Indian Hill.
Devlan Daniel, Indian Hill: Accounted for five touchdowns in the game of the night: four rushing scores and a 47-yard TD pass. Scored from 20 yards on the first play of the third overtime.
Owen Scalf, Anderson: Was unofficially 22-of-24 for 416 yards and three TDs in the first half as Anderson built a 45-0 halftime lead over #16 Lebanon.
Ryan Minges, East Central: Rushed 11 times for 168 yards and four touchdowns in the first half as #14 East Central hammered previously unbeaten Franklin County, 63-7.
Tysin Weaver, Anderson: Turned in a monster receiving performance with roughly 200 yards and three TD catches, including scores of 81, 43 and 63 yards.
Josiiah Jones, Winton Woods: Threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers as #7 Winton Woods rolled past Turpin, 45-7, to remain unbeaten in ECC play.
Kaden Estep, Elder: Completed 8-of-9 passes for 161 yards and three TDs and rushed 13 times for 110 yards in a 35-0 win over #13 La Salle. He has topped 100 yards passing and rushing in each of Elder’s first four games.
Jack Denier, Harrison: Produced one of the plays of the night with an approximately 102-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter to seal #23 Harrison’s 22-13 win over #12 Withrow.
Brian Ferguson, Holy Cross: Threw four touchdown passes to help Holy Cross defeat Holmes, 42-12, and improve to 4-0.
Jaden Hornbeck, Kings: Rushed for 78 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 carries as #20 Kings rolled past West Clermont, 45-14, in the Blitz 5 Game of the Week.
BLITZ 5 GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 20 Kings put together a dominant performance in the Blitz 5 Game of the Week, rolling past West Clermont, 45-14. The Knights erupted for 38 first-half points behind three rushing touchdowns from Jaden Hornbeck, while Oliver Young scored on the ground and returned a kickoff 85 yards for another touchdown. Jack Sills completed 12-of-13 passes as Kings improved to 3-1.
