KINGS MILLS, Ohio – Kings turned in a dominant performance in the Blitz 5 Game of the Week, rolling past West Clermont, 45-14, on Friday night.
The Knights exploded for 38 first-half points and controlled the game throughout, piling up 451 yards of offense, including 289 on the ground, while holding West Clermont to 204 total yards.
Sophomore Oliver Young opened the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown run before West Clermont quarterback Colton Abner answered with a 9-yard score. Just 12 seconds later, Young changed the game again, taking the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to put Kings back in front for good.
Jaden Hornbeck took over from there, scoring on runs of 2, 10 and 10 yards to finish with 78 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Young added 74 yards on 16 attempts as the Knights averaged 6.4 yards per carry.
Quarterback Jack Sills was nearly perfect, completing 12-of-13 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown. Nathan Tucker was his top target, hauling in five passes for 104 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown reception.
Kings led 38-7 at halftime and stretched the advantage to 45-14 in the third quarter before a scoreless fourth.

The Knights were equally impressive in controlling the football, finishing with a 23-7 advantage in first downs and possessing the ball for 38 of the game’s 48 minutes. The Kings defense also forced the game’s only turnover, with Jaxon Lyon recording an interception.
Kings improves to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the ECC and has responded to its Week 2 loss to No. 7 Winton Woods by scoring 86 points in consecutive victories over Loveland and West Clermont. The Knights travel to No. 6 Anderson next Friday for another major ECC matchup.
West Clermont falls to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the ECC.
