Cincinnati Round-Up: Princeton prevails in GMC clash

It was a big night of football across Southwest Ohio, headlined by Princeton’s decisive victory over Lakota West to shake up the GMC standings.

NO. 6 PRINCETON 27, NO. 3 LAKOTA WEST 10
After allowing 20 points to Moeller in a season-opening loss to the Crusaders, the Princeton defense has been on shutdown mode since during the Vikings recent three-game winning streak.

That defense was again key Friday night in a Greater Miami Conference showdown, as Princeton handled Lakota West 27-10 to extend their winning streak to three games in a row in the rivalry with the Firebirds.

Since that season-opening 41-20 loss to Moeller, the Viking defense has only allowed a total of 12 points in the three games since.

Princeton senior RB David Hambrick 8 times for 113 yards and one score for Princeton, who goes to 3-1 on the season, 3-0 in the GMC.

Lakota West falls to 2-2 on the year, 2-1 in the conference, as they suffer their first GMC defeat.

NO. 4 ANDERSON 36, NO. 20 LEBANON 10
In an anticipated matchup between Top 25 teams and Eastern Cincinnati Conference rivals, undefeated Anderson had little trouble Friday night with previously unbeaten Lebanon, as the Raptors topped the Warriors by a tally of 36-10.

Anderson moves to 4-0 on the season, 3-0 in the ECC, and keeps pace in the conference with undefeated Kings, who shutout ECC foe West Clermont 31-0 Friday night. Lebanon drops to 3-1 on the year, 2-1 in the ECC.

The Raptors take on Kings next Friday at Kings, while Lebanon travels to Little Miami.

NO. 16 LAKOTA EAST 31, NO. 22 HAMILTON 27
In a back and forth battle in Hamilton Friday night, Lakota East held off Greater Miami Conference foe Hamilton by a score of 31-27.

The seesaw affair saw Lakota up 17-14 at the half, and both teams went at each other in the second half, but the Thunderhawks held on for the win.
