HAMILTON, Ohio – Ross saw a two-game winning streak snapped, while Wilmington won their second in a row as the Hurricane edged the Rams 21-13 Friday night at Ross.
The Rams started off the game well, as the Ross defense had a goal line stand to open the game, then drove 98 yards the other way – led by senior running back Lucas Kunkel, who was averaging 132.7 yards a game on the ground coming into Friday night – to take an early 7-0 lead.
The Hurricane cut that early lead, however, to 7-6 to start the third quarter, as QB Carson Brown hookup up with Phayden Mawyer for a score, and would take a 14-13 lead into the fourth quarter after another TD pass from Brown to wideout Stevie Rickman. A third touchdown pass from Brown, this time to Gavin Derkson, made the score 21-13 in the fourth quarter, which would be the final.
