HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio – Springfield remained red-hot with its fourth straight win. The Wildcats scored 35 unanswered points in the second and third quarters to put away Wayne and gain sole possession of first place in the GWOC with three weeks left.
Springfield had a season high 42 points and the defense held its fifth straight opponent to 16 points or less. Junior Christopher Wallace threw for career highs of 255 yards and four touchdown passes. He has thrown at least one touchdown pass in all seven games. Braylon Keyes also had personal best with seven receptions, 114 yards receiving and two touchdown catches.

The Wildcats held Wayne to 50 yards rushing on 30 carries with 3.0 sacks and 8.0 tackles for losses. Jahmiere Daniels had his first two sacks of the season and forced a fumble. Jack Walker Cherry had a 22-yard-scoop-and-score.
