The Woodward Bulldogs have been voted the Week 4 Gold Star Team of the Week after ending a three-year winless drought with an 8-0 shutout of Thurgood Marshall.
The victory was Woodward’s first since defeating Bethel-Tate, 12-7, on Sept. 1, 2023, making Friday night’s breakthrough an especially memorable one for the Bulldogs.
Woodward earned 29.41 percent of the votes cast by fans at TriStateFootball.com, finishing ahead of Winton Woods and Holy Cross in the Week 4 voting. More than 1,200 votes were cast in this week’s poll.
Anderson, Dayton, East Central, Harrison, Lakota East, Talawanda and Wyoming were also nominated following outstanding Week 4 performances.
As this week’s winner, Woodward will receive the Gold Star Team of the Week award, which will be presented to the Bulldogs in the near future courtesy of our friends at Gold Star.
