Bombers Offense Explodes in King of the Road Rivalry

CINCINNATI, OH – After a tough loss to Louisville Trinity, quarterback Thomas George and the
St. Xavier Bombers got back into the win column on Friday night against the LaSalle Lancers by
a score of 38- 14, bringing the Bombers back to .500 on the season.

In this year’s edition of the “King of the Road” rivalry, it was all St. X as they continued to prove
that despite their rollercoaster season, the Bombers are not to be looked past come playoff time
later this year. The St. X team was once again led by senior quarterback Thomas George, who,
after taking over as the starting quarterback, has been impressive and consistent.

George passed for 196 yards on 11 completions for two touchdowns, both of which went to
senior receiver Logan Von Holle. Junior tailback Aiden Graham was an important cog of the
Bombers offensive attack once again on Friday night, rushing for 131 yards on 13 carries.

Former starting quarterback turned utility-star Adian Newdigate also tacked on two rushing
touchdowns, and went two-for-two passing, including a touchdown throw to Von Holle.

For St. Xavier, much of the season has relied on its play in the trenches on both sides of the
ball, and Friday night was no different, as the Bombers defense put together a stout
performance defensively and offensively, limiting the Lancers to just 80 total rushing yards on
defense. On Offense, St. X put up 254 rushing yards by five different ball carriers.

Leading the way for the Bombers defense was junior linebacker Griffin Lyons, who racked up 11
total tackles and a half-sack for his Friday night performance. Fellow junior linebacker Braden
Moore also had an impressive night, combining for seven total tackles and an interception.

For LaSalle, it was a disappointing GCL South campaign this year, losing all three contests by a
total point difference of 118-14. Despite their valiant second-quarter effort, it was not to be for
the Lancers, who had costly turnovers and failed to capitalize on quality field position.

Junior quarterback Garrett Fraley played well for the hosting squad, racking up 143 passing
yards on 20 attempts with one touchdown and one interception. He also added a rushing
touchdown of his own.

Senior Lancer wideout Tyler Roby also put up a consistent performance, hauling in 70-total
receiving yards on four catches. Defensively for LaSalle, senior linebacker Izak Campbell had
eight total tackles.

Now back to a .500 record, the St. Xavier Bombers will look to continue their recent momentum
as they face Cleveland St. Ignatius (4-4) at home next week. Meanwhile, LaSalle will look to get
back into the win column against Harrison (7-1) at home.
