Turpin picked up a huge home win over Lebanon on Friday night. The Spartans pulled out a 63-60 win in a high scoring shootout. Junior quarterback Will Schmittauer had a huge night in the win. The dual threat play caller was at his best all night as he passed for 532 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 132 yards and another two scores.
Callan Poland hauled in 17 receptions for 263 yards and three receiving touchdowns. Defense was an option as Lebanon was efficient as well in the loss. Mason Reed threw for 441 yards and four touchdowns and Logan Schmenk continued his big season with 141 yards rushing with three touchdowns in the losing effort. Both teams continue their quests to the postseason next week.
Turpin and Lebanon combined for 1,340 yards of offense Friday night, according to the ECC sports website. Turpin had 711 yards of total offense while Lebanon had 629 yards.
