Sycamore trips Milford in 2 OT

Brian Doneghy had run the ball 60 times all regular season.
On Friday, he had 40 rushes, scored twice in overtime and five times overall in Sycamore’s 41-35 double overtime win over Milford in a first-round Region 4 opener.
He finished with 249 ground yards as Sycamore piled up 426 rushing yards overall.
Alex Schaad added 64 on one carry, and Jordan McConnell added six rushes for 58 yards.
The Aviators led by 13, 28-15, but the Eagles battled back with a pair of late touchdowns, tying the score and forcing the extra sessions.
QB Blake King paced Milford with 276 passing yards and three TDs, as he went 23-for-40. Jake Ayler caught six passes for 121 yards and a touchdown and Dylan Hughes went 6-81-1.
Sycamore advanced to the state quarterfinal round for the first time in school history last year. This was the Aviators’ fourth-ever postseason win.
Sycamore will play St. Xavier next week at a site TBA. The Bombers ended the Aviators’ season last year in overtime.
