Trotwood-Madison sweeps All-SW District awards

When you dominate a season like Trotwood-Madison has done is only fitting that the trophy case gets filled up with awards. The undefeated Rams (12-0) who will play for an eighth consecutive regional championship made a clean sweep of the 2017 Division III All-Southwest District honors.

Sensational running back Ra’veion Hargrove is the 2017 Division III Southwest District offensive player of the year. Despite rarely playing in the second half of games because Trotwood-Madison was up by so many points the senior has still managed to run for 1,856 yards, catch 10 passes for another 230 yards while finding the end zone 30 times (26 rushing, four receiving). He has scored at least one touchdown in 16 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Even though he is only a junior Kennedy Coates has created quite the reputation as a speed pass rusher. Coates has 57 total tackles, two fumble recoveries, at least one sack in 11 of Trotwood-Madison’s 12 games and 20 sacks on the season. That effort earned Coates 2017 Division III Southwest District defensive player of the year.

The maestro of this machine is head coach Jeff Graham, the 2017 Division III Southwest District coach of the year. Why? Trotwood-Madison is undefeated and have been head and shoulders above their peers in every aspect of the game. The Rams offense has been so good that in their last nine wins they have scored 56 points or more seven times and at least 62 in each of their last five victories. Most games have been over by halftime as Trotwood-Madison has outscored their opponents by an average margin of 28.5  points (34.33 to 5.83)  in the first half. That number has gotten even bigger over the Rams last eight wins with an average margin of 35.88 points (40.0 to 4.12) by intermission. That’s why! Trotwood-Madison has gotten better as the season has progressed under his tutelage.
