Fairfield races past Lakota East

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Fairfield downed Lakota East 41-27 to improve their record to 4-1 and 3-0 in conference play. There was a total of 949 total yards between both teams in this game, with Fairfield having 553 and Lakota East having 396.
Both teams were successful running the ball in this contest, with each almost having the same exact rushing yards. Lakota East had 229 and Fairfield had 221.What hurt Lakota East the most was having two turnovers allowing Fairfield to get some separation and then not being able to force Fairfield into committing one.
Fairfield’s Jeff Tyus, coming back from injury, went 20-of-27 with 332 yards and two passing touchdowns, while having 12 rushing attempts for 64 yards. Running back Jutahn McClain from Fairfield accounted for five total touchdowns. He had 24 rushing attempts for 139 yards and four touchdowns, along with four receptions for 96 yards and a receiving touchdown as well.
Lakota East’s quarterback, Sean Church went 11-of-13 with 167 yards and 11 rushing attempts for 104 yards and three rushing touchdowns, combining for 271 of their 396 total yards on offense. Neither team played great defense but at the end of the night, it was Fairfield’s offense putting up more points to get the win.
