Conner keeps rolling in win versus NewCath

HERBON, Kentucky –The Conner Cougars continued their stellar 2018 campaign by picking up a 34-18 win over the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds on Homecoming Night in Hebron.

Senior running back Christian Webster led the charge by rushing for 230 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. Webster now has 627 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground through five games played.

Teammate Garrett Coghlan chipped in an additional 107 yards and two scores on 13 rushing attempts as the Cougars ran away with a victory.

The improved defense has been a big difference so far this season in the Cougars’ success. In the team’s four wins the opposing teams have averaged just 11 points per game.

The Cougars are now just one of seven Class 6A teams statewide in Kentucky with one loss or less on the season.
