Anderson Dominates Second Half To Beat Turpin
- Updated: October 13, 2018
CINCINNATI, ohio – Anderson went on a 28-0 run after half to get the come from behind win at home against Turpin 42-24. Anderson held the Spartans to 214 total offensive yards and was able to come up with three interceptions. The Redskins dominated the run game with 341 of their 446 total offensive yards were on the ground.
Junior running back Owen Koelle led Anderson in rushing yards with 215 on 34 carries with a touchdown. His quarterback, David Thompson, led the team in rushing touchdowns with four on 53 rushing yards and 105 yards through the air.
Anderson started out slow trailing Turpin 24-14 at half but was able to trust the defense to make plays and force turnovers to help spark the offense. Anderson was able to show lots of discipline by not having a single penalty the whole game.
The defense clogged the running lanes and only allowed Turpin to get 79 rushing yards on 25 attempts.
It was a great all-around team effort in the comeback win for the Redskins. Their final two games of the year have them hosting Walnut Hills next week and traveling to Loveland to finish off the regular season.
