CovCath edges Bishop Chatard in offensive shootout

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The Covington Catholic Colonels won their seventh straight game and 22nd in a row overall, which is the best mark across Kentucky, as they knocked off Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, 52-36.

Junior Michael Mayer led the way on both sides of the ball as he finished with four catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns and also had a 76-yard interception return for a TD.

Sophomore Caleb Jacob connected on 19 of 30 passes for 385 yards and a TD while running back Casey McGinness led all rushers with 158 yards and two touchdowns on 26 attempts.

Up next, will be the highly anticipated 5A rival Highlands in Fort Thomas.
