Roger Bacon Ends Skid with Great Team Effort

CINCINNATI, ohio – Two teams desperately looking to break losing streaks saw Roger Bacon dig down deep and pull out the win at McNicholas. The victory broke a four-game skid by the Spartans and extended the Rockets slide to five in a row.

Roger Bacon used a balance offensive attack and its defense snared five interceptions. With the game tied at 27 after three quarters, 40 and 80-yard touchdown runs by sophomore Corey Kiner sealed the game for the Spartans. Kiner finished the 165 of the teams 242 rushing yards on just 16 carries. He now has 1,251 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns through seven tilts.

Junior quarterback Tyler Bullock threw for 222 yards and a career high three rushing touchdowns for the victors. Sophomore Ryan Hallau tied a Roger Bacon school record with three interceptions. Senior Nate Stark had the first two interceptions of his career including a 47-yard pick six in the second half.

Despite the five picks, McNicholas sophomore quarterback Clay Badylak had personal bests of 349 yards passing and 52 yards rushing. Receiver Bryce Kellerman led the Rockets with eight receptions for 127 yards.
