Teams are starting to show who they really are. Identities are being formed and molded into shape.  Friday presents great opportunities for several squads to make statements about themselves.  Here’s what’s in store heading into Week 7 of the season:

RANKINGS – OHIO DI
A showdown at Nippert Stadium will see if #2 Moeller can win the GCL South outright against #4 Elder. The Panthers are coming off a 51-point outburst in a victory over now #7 St. Xavier. They will be in the driver seat of the GCL South if they can beat Big Moe. A tough road test has #1 Colerain at #6 Mason. The Cardinals have played their share of big playoff games on Dwire Field, they will not be phased by the home crowd. Also, away from its friendly confines is #3 Springfield who is at #10 Northmont. The Thunderbolts have owned Springfield, winning six of the last seven in the series… COMPLETE RANKINGS

RANKINGS – OHIO DII-DIII
Back on top of the rankings is #1 Trotwood-Madison. The Rams should have little problem winning their next three contests before facing off with Division I #9 Wayne. It was a tough week for #9 Edgewood who fell four spots after losing to unranked Ross (3-3). The Cougars now go on the road to face #2 Winton Woods. The Warriors are coming off a win over previously unbeaten Bishop Chatard (IN). The only other school in the rankings with a home game this weekend is #3 La Salle who hosts the slumping Division I #7 St. Xavier Bombers.… COMPLETE RANKINGS

RANKINGS – OHIO DIV-DVII
No changes in the top six from a week ago. Down three spots is #10 Valley View. Even though there are no games on the slate versus ranked teams several squads face tough challenges. There should be little rumblings in the poll come Week 7.…. COMPLETE RANKINGS

RANKINGS – NKY
After a week off #1 Covington Catholic gets a stiff road challenge. The Colonels head to Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, who will be playing with fire in it eyes after a first loss of the season to Winton Woods. It was “Davey,” #3 Beechwood who knocked down “Goliath,” #4 Simon Kenton in Week 6. The Tigers will be picking on schools their own size the rest of the way. Not good for Beechwood foes. Time to find out if #5 Conner is for real or not. The Cougars are at #6 Campbell County. The winner will get a huge shot of confidence…. COMPLETE RANKINGS
