Winton Woods Stays Hot, Defeats Edgewood
- Updated: October 8, 2018
CINCINNATI, ohio – Winton Woods won its sixth straight game despite Edgewood putting fourth its best effort to let the air out of the ball. The Warriors ran only 40 offensive plays and lost the time of possession battle to Edgewood by more than 18 minutes (33:08 – 14:52). Tack on another 121 yards in penalties by Winton Woods it becomes even more amazing that the Warriors came away with the victory.
Junior running back Miyan Williams led the way for Winton Woods carrying the ball 18 times for 178 yards and scoring all three of the teams touchdowns. There isn’t a player hotter than Williams right now. During the Warriors current six-game winning streak he has run for 1,243 yards with 21 touchdowns on 100 carries.
The Cougars ran 25 more plays than Winton Woods but could only muster up 209 yards of total offense. Senior Elijah Williams had 122 of those yards rushing. Edgewood did not have a play that gained more than 16 yards.
