Blitz 5 Top 25: Separation at the top
- Updated: September 9, 2019
After just two weeks the Blitz 5 Top 25 presented by TriStateFootball.com is starting to see the best teams separate themselves from the pack. The top eight spots remain the same and again going a combined 7-1 for second straight week. Despite the loss to St. Xavier, Colerain is on solid footing, retaining its spot in the rankings.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Things could not have started any worse for Moeller. The Crusaders fell six notches this week after being outscored 69-0. They have now lost six straight games dating back to last season. Moeller has been shutout in their last three contests and have been outscored by and average of 19.9 points in those six games and 34.7 to 0 over the last three contests.
Unlucky 21, for the second straight week the team ranked in that slot has fallen out of the rankings. First Lebanon, now Edgewood. Watch out, Middletown! Franklin replaced Edgewood after knocking off the Cougars.
There are seven games Friday pitting ranked teams against each other, suggesting there is likely more turbulence to come in next week’s poll.
