It was a breakout senior season for Springboro defensive back Tim Keseday. He goes out with a bang after being named the 2019 TriState Football Dayton Defensive Player of the Year as TSF paid tribute to the top high school gridiron talent from Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton and Southeast Indiana at the Year in Review Show on Monday night, in front of a packed house at the Holy Grail, downtown Cincinnati.

Keseday earned 2019 OPSWA Division I Second Team All-Ohio, First Team All-TSF and GWOC Defensive Player of the Year honors after getting in on 82 total tackles, with three fumble recoveries and an interception. On offense, he led the Panthers with 13 touchdowns rushing while running for 548 yards. The effort helped Springboro to a 9-2 record and the GWOC National title. Keseday finished his career with 1,072 yards and 18 touchdowns rushing, 1,383 all-purpose yards, 140 total tackles, three fumble recoveries and an interception.

Other finalists included seniors – Sammy Anderson (Trotwood-Madison), Trey Baker (Fairmont), Devin Hall (Xenia), Mason Henry (Alter), Xzerious Stinnett (Springfield) and junior Hunter Warner (Fairborn). In the 11-year history of this award Fairmont’s Baker becomes just the sixth player to be nominated twice as a TSF Dayton Defensive Player of the Year finalist.

TriStateFootball.com was founded in 2005 and started its postseason player awards for Dayton in 2009. This is the first time that a Springboro player has been tabbed as the TSF Dayton Defensive Player of the Year.
