Blitz 5 Top 25: Early-season shakeups

The 2020 campaign had quite the eventful first full weekend of action. Of the 20 teams in the Blitz 5 Top 25 presented by TriStateFootball.com that played only 10 of them came away with victories. Week 2 promises to be just as topsy-turvy. 

Top-ranked La Salle won a highly entertaining 53-52 double-overtime shootout at Elder. The two teams combined for 887 yards and 14 touchdowns.

On the other end of the spectrum, Colerain saw its 83-game GMC winning streak snapped by its former head coach, Tom Bolden, and his Lakota West Firebirds. The Cardinals fell four spots in the rankings from second to sixth in the rankings as a result.

This Friday night will feature five battles between teams ranked in the Top 15. With one game under their belts, expect play to be more crisp as squads settle into this season.
