SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – It was a one-sided catfight. A potent Springboro offense was completely shut down by a Springfield defense that held the Panthers to just 161 yards of total offense, only two yards rushing and just 1-9 on third down conversions. Springboro came into the game averaging 49.5 points per contest.

The Springfield offense was equally as impressive as the defense was. The Wildcats racked up 438 yards of total offense and a season high 41 points. Sophomore Anthony Brown found the end zone three times (two rec, one rush). Brown had 117 yards from scrimmage (69 rec, 48 rush) on 11 touches.

Junior quarterback Te’Sean Smoot threw for 265 yards, ran for another 101 yards and accounted for four touchdowns (three pass, one rush) for the victors. It was the first 100-plus yard rushing performance of his career.

In his first action of the year, junior Jokell Brown had two sacks for the Springfield defense. Classmate Delian Bradley came up with an interception, his third of the year. Bradley has 10 takeaways (seven INTs, three FRs) in his last 13 games.
