Comeback Propels Springboro Over Fairmont

KETTERING, oh – Down 14-3 to start the second half Springboro scored 18 unanswered points after intermission to put away a pesky Fairmont squad. Freshman Cooper Murdock connected with junior Kru Collins on a 31-yard touchdown pass with 1:23 left in the contest to seal the victory for the Panthers. The Boro defense was equally impressive holding the Firebirds to their lowest offensive output, 231 yards since Week 2 of the season.

Collins had a career day, snatching 10 receptions for 159 yards and a score for the Victors. Murdock had a personal best 227 yards through the air and an additional 84 yards on the ground. Brandon Birdsong Jr. posted his 11th rushing touchdown of the year.

Running back Logan Doty returned to action for Fairmont after a two-game hiatus and ran for touchdowns. That gave the senior eight scores rushing in his last three starts.
