St. Xavier sweeps GCL South

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The St. Xavier Bombers grabbed sole possession of the 2020 GCL South title by knocking off the Moeller Crusaders, 43-14, to complete their sweep inside conference play.

The Bombers didn’t skip a beat with backup quarterback Ryan Nolan getting the starting nod. The junior completed 20-of-23 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns. Jalen Patterson was the recipient of the bulk of his passes as he pulled in eight balls for 162 yards and a touchdown.

Moeller showed some improvement and kept things close for the first half, but they were shutout during the final two quarters of play.

The Crusaders turned the ball over five times in the contest and all five came on interceptions. St. Xavier Gabirel Dubois came up with two of those and teammate Mattew Devine added another for a pick six.
