Blitz 5 Top 25: Bombers flying high
- Updated: September 8, 2020
It was a weekend of amazing football for both teams and individuals. St. Xavier climbed to the top of the Blitz 5 Top 25 presented by TriStateFootball.com after knocking previously top-ranked La Salle to take the “King of the Road” trophy back. Staying atop the rankings won’t be easy for St. Xavier. They head to The Pit to face third-ranked Elder in another GCL South showdown.
East Central moved into the top 10 after derailing then #8 Moeller in last weekend’s biggest upset. New Richmond and Western Brown combined for 138 points. New Richmond came out on top 77-61. The 2-0 Lions are now knocking on the door of the rankings
Kings’ senior running back Ty Stylski found the end zone six times as the visiting Knights rocked rival Anderson, 70-34 in their 2020 opener. Kings landed at No. 20 in this week’s poll following that effort.
Freshman quarterback Talon Fisher rushed for 299 yards and four touchdowns as #11 Fairfield picked up its first win of the season.
