2021 TSF Indiana Team of the Year: Lawrenceburg

For a second straight season Lawrenceburg was named the TriState Football Indiana Team of the Year. After losing its opener to rival East Central, the Tigers reeled off 11 straight wins and captured a sectional championship for a third straight season. It was the 20th sectional title for the program and its fifth in the last six campaigns.

Lawrenceburg fell in the regional championship game to eventual Class 3A state champion, Gibson Southern by two points. They finished 11-2 for a third consecutive year and fourth time in the last five seasons.

The Tigers were balanced and explosive on offense averaging 200.3 yards passing and 206.5 yards rushing per game. They found the end zone 78 times (50 rush, 28 pass) and averaged 41.8 points per game. Lawrenceburg had an eight-game span where they averaged 55.1 points per contest. Defensively, the Tigers allowed 14.1 points per game. They held 10 of their 13 opponents to 14 points or less.

Under head coach Ryan Knigga the Tigers are a combined 99-35 in his 11 years. They have won six sectional titles and finished as the Class 3A state runner-up in 2016 under his tutelage.
