The KHSAA playoffs are well underway as a pair of Louisville squads got the best of some Northern Kentucky powers. Meanwhile some Thoroughbreds sprinted to a victory in Class 1A.
CLASS 6A
LOUISVILLE TRINITY 51, SIMON KENTON 20
Simon Kenton came up short in their quest to advance in the state playoffs. The Shamrocks of Trinity proved to be too much to overcome. Trinity outgained SK 268-183 on the ground as they rushed the ball 55 times to set the tone of the game.
Pioneers quarterback Chase Crone did his best to try and pull the upset. Crone was 7-17 for 121 yards on the night. He also rushed 18 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns to pace his squad. Chase Williams had five catches for 70 yards to lead the team in receiving in the loss.

LLOYD 41, WALTON-VERONA 0
Lloyd continued its strong play as of late as they blanked Walton-Verona on Friday night. Kaiden Zulager rushed 18 times for 220 yards and three touchdowns to pace the Juggernauts. He accounted for 220 0f the 267 rushing yards on the night.
Isaiah Sabastian led the defensive charge with four interceptions. The Lloyd defense accounted for five INTS as they blanked the Bearcats for four quarters.
BEECHWOOD 62, CARROLL COUNTY 14
Beechwood ran away from Carroll County with a resounding victory on Friday night. The Tigers dominated every facet of the game as they were at their best early and often against Carroll County. The Tigers look to continue their stellar play next week as they look to move one step closer to a title.
