Dayton Round-Up: Schondelmyer shines, Wildcats roll

Clayton, ohio – Springfield is back in the regional finals for a fourth straight year after knocking off league rival Centerville in the Division I, Region 2 semifinals. It was the sixth straight win for the Wildcats over the Elks. They haven’t lost to Centerville since 2017.

Quarterback Bryce Schondelmyer threw four touchdown passes, ran for another, while going 20-31 for 312 yards. The seniors top target was classmate Anthony Brown had six receptions for 177 yards and a pair of scores.  Schondelmyer raised his totals to 3,842 yards and 41 touchdowns passing. Brown now has 61 receptions for 1,341 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Springfield moves on to play Olentangy Liberty who knocked off Perrysburg, 14-3. The Patriots have won six of their last seven after starting 2-4.
