2025 Snapshot: Edgewood
- Updated: June 27, 2025

The program hasn’t suffered three consecutive losing seasons since 1991-93. With eight starters returning on offense and seven on defense Edgewood appears to be on course to change its misfortunes.

EDGEWOOD RIVALRIES
In the history of Edgewood football, the program has played nine schools, 20 or more times. Five of those rivals are on the schedule this fall – Badin, Fenwick, Ross, Franklin and Monroe.
Here is how Edgewood has fared against their most played rivals.
Badin (7-18) – Edgewood has only had one three-game winning streak in this series (2016-28). Badin has won the last three in the series.
Fenwick (24-13-2) – This will be just the fourth meeting between the two schools since 2005. They played for 23 consecutive years from 1982-2005 as foes in the MML.
Ross (27-17-1) – Outside of an 11-year hiatus from 1980 to 1990, the two teams have squared off in every other year of Edgewood’s existence. In 1997, Ross beat the Cougars in the regular season. Edgewood avenged that loss in the playoffs.
Franklin (24-18-3) – This series started in 1972 and played yearly until 2005. It was picked back up in 2014 and has been played every year since except 2020 (Covid). Sixteen times this game has been decided by seven points or less.
Monroe (30-14) – This series started in 1970 and played yearly until 2005. The teams have faced off eight times since 2014 with Edgewood winning the last seven and 17 of the last 19 battles dating back to 1995.
Talawanda (35-20) – This will be the first year the two teams haven’t played since the inaugural season of Edgewood football in 1970 (55 straight years). The rivalry will be rekindled in 2026 when Talawanda joins the SWBL. Edgewood has won nine of the last 10 in the series.
Miamisburg (12-11) – The two teams haven’t faced off in 20 years. The series ran consecutively from 1982-2005 when the two schools were members of the MML.
Madison (20-6-1) – The two teams haven’t played since 1999. Edgewood has won the last seven games in the series.
Lebanon (9-17-2) – This series ran for 26 years from 1970-1995. The two schools met in the playoffs in 1999 and their last regular season meeting was in 2006. The Cougars have won the last five meetings between the two schools dating back to 1994.
