From 2019-2023 Batavia football won a grand total of eight games. In 2024, the Bulldogs equaled that victory total, having one of the most exciting seasons in school history. After a taste of that success, this team is hungry for more and they believe they can get it accomplished.
The Batavia offense should be very explosive once again. A unit that averaged 43.0 points per contest and topped the 50-point mark five times in 2024 returns eight starters from last fall’s heartbreaking 37-34 first round playoff loss to conference rival Wilmington.
A Bulldogs defense that allowed 18.7 points per game a year ago has some voids to fill. “Our defensive line will feature new starters who will need to adapt to the varsity level quickly,” head coach Wayne Stacy states.
Stacy likes what he sees and feels confident that even bigger heights can be reached by this version of the Bulldogs. “We have experience on both sides of the ball and an outstanding senior class. This team has a chance to make 2025 a very memorable season.”
