2025 Video Snapshot: CHCA

They are looking for an encore performance at CHCA in 2025. Last fall the Eagles won nine games their most wins since 2016 and had their first winning season since 2020. There are plenty of players chomping at the bit to prove themselves after the graduation of some very polished talent from last season’s successful squad.

HEAD COACH: Calvin Renfroe (14-7 at Roger CHCA, two years; 14-7 overall)

HONOR ROLL
Mitchell Rottinghaus, Sr, K – Mr. Automatic in 2024, Rottinghaus is a special teams weapon. He was named First Team All-MVC Scarlet after connecting on 62/63 extra point attempts and all five of his field goal tries (long of 42-yards) for 77 points as a junior. 

Cole Canter, Sr, DL – Was a defensive force in his first year as a starter. Canter recorded 39 tackles, 12.0 sacks with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2024.

Owen Clary, Jr, DL – Teams with Canter to give the Eagles a potent pass rush. Clary was named First Team All-MVC Scarlet after getting in on 32 tackles, 7.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery as a sophomore. 

Max Labin, Sr, WR/DB – A flat out defensive stud. The playmaking Labin, was named Second Team All-MVC Scarlet as a junior. He has Career: 177 tackles, 4.0  sacks, 8.5 tackles for losses, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, four interceptions including a pick-six in his career.

Griffin Ridner Richard, Sr, QB – Emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the MVC last fall. Ridner Richard threw for 1,909 yards, had 23 touchdown tosses, 143 yards rushing and two scores on the ground on his way to Second Team All-MVC Scarlet honors.

Anthony Ghabrial, Sr, OL – The leader of an offensive line that helped amass 4,013 yards (364.8 yards per game) in 2024. Ghabrial was named Second Team All-MVC Scarlet for his efforts.

Noah Kinstler, Sr, OL – A Second Team All-MVC Scarlet selection as a junior, Kinstler helped open holes for an offense that found the end zone 61 times (35 rush, 26 pass) in 2024.

Marcus Sheanshang, Sr, RB/DB – The time has come for Sheanshang to shine. He has 17 receptions, 214 receiving yards, two touchdown catches and 28 tackles in his career. Sheanshang was named Honorable Mention All-MVC Scarlet in 2024.

OTHER RETURNEES
Blake Powell, Sr, LB – Back for his third year as a starter, Powell is an integral part of the Eagles defense. He has 112 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 8.0 tackles for losses and four takeaways (two FRs, two INTs) in his career.

Alex Wells, Sr, WR/DB – Will play a huge role on both sides of the ball. Wells has 25 receptions for 426 yards, two touchdown catches, 57 tackles, six pass breakups and two interceptions at the varsity level. 

Brennan Webster, Sr, LB – This could be a breakout year for Webster. He has 20 tackles, 3.0 sacks and a fumble recovery in an Eagles uniform. 

Sam Flagel, Sr, RB/LB – Showed great promise in six games as a junior. Flagel ran for 112 yards, had a rushing touchdown, 15 tackles, a sack, two pass breakups and two interceptions.
