TIPP CITY, oh – It was total domination as Tippecanoe shutout Butler for their fourth straight win. The red hot Red Devils handed the Aviators their first loss of the season behind an offense that racked up 355 yards and a defense that created four turnovers, had five sacks and 12.5 tackles for losses.
Quarterback Larkin Thomas led the way for the victors. The senior accounted for four touchdowns (three rush, one pass) and had a game high 113 yards rushing. Junior Colston Artz added 108 yards and two scores on the ground.
James Merry was a beast for the Tippecanoe defense tallying three sacks and five tackles for losses. The Red Devils held Butler to just 32 yards rushing on 15 carries as they recorded their third shutout in the last four games. During their current four game winning streak Tipp has come up with 15 takeaways and has a plus-11 turnover margin. Toby Hoover has accounted for six of those turnovers (four FRs, two INTs) in that span.
