TSF Rankings Update: Week 8

There were some tall trees that got chopped down this past weekend. The “big boys” showed that they are not invincible. As some of the top ball clubs were handed losses, squads in the middle of most of the rankings continued to take care of business. Here is a look at the polls as we enter Week 8 of the season:

RANKINGS – OHIO DI
A big win for Moeller kept the Crusaders playoff hopes alive after they cooled off a hot Elder squad. The other Greater Catholic League South contest saw St. Xavier end Division II, No.1 ranked La Salle’s 14-game winning streak. The victory gave the Bombers a share of the GCL South title. Lakota West was the only other Top 10 that lost as the Firebirds fell to No. 1 Colerain. They are replaced in the rankings by Beavercreek…COMPLETE RANKINGS

Drew-Reckart-Edgewood

RANKINGS – OHIO DII-DIII
La Salle still hasn’t solved the mystery of St. Xavier. After 14 straight victories the Lancers were taken out by the Bombers who now own the only two wins over La Salle since the start of 2014. Trotwood-Madison suffered the worst loss of any rated team this past weekend falling to a one-win Troy team. Five turnovers led to the demise of the Rams who see Turpin and Miamisburg jump them in the poll. Edgewood makes its first appearance in the Top 10 after beating Northwest…COMPLETE RANKINGS

RANKINGS – OHIO DIV-DVII
It was another strong showing for the small schools in this week’s ranking. Alter knocked off Badin and Indian Hill took down Madeira in the only two games featuring Top 10 teams. Badin falls two spots to No.4 while Madeira is replaced at No. 10 by Cincinnati Country Day who has won 29 consecutive regular season games…COMPLETE RANKINGS

RANKINGS – NKY
Cooper moves up to the second in the rankings after handing Ryle its first loss of the season. That is the only change in this week’s poll as the other six teams that played this past weekend all won.…COMPLETE RANKINGS
