NKY Round-Up: Postseason play begins

The calendar has hit November and that means its playoff time. Friday night saw several Northern Kentucky teams in action with the seasons on the line.
CONNER 28, LAFAYETTE 7
The Cougars put 21 points on the board in the opening quarter as the moved past the Generals. Senior Christian Webster scored two of his two of three touchdowns in the first quarter and finished with 154 yards carries. Teammate Tate Niederman added an additional score on a 24-yard TD run of his own. Freshman Parker Hitzfield paced the defense with five tackles and a pair of sacks.
SIMON KENTON 48, BRYAN STATION 34
Coming off a Week 10 bye, the Pioneers had fresh legs as they welcomed Bryan Station and it paid big dividends in their 48-34 win. Running back John Sergent rushed for 197 yards and three scores on 25 carries and Quarterback Caleb Farfsing added 215 yards and a touchdown on 24 attempts.
COVINGTON CATHOLIC 49, WOODFORD COUNTY 0
The Colonels picked up their 26th straight win as they breezed by the visiting Woodford County, 49-0. The Yellowjackets were held to two total yards of offense in the contest. Senior Casey McGinness played sparingly, but still managed 97 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries.
HIGHLANDS 36, MADISON SOUTHERN 7
Grady Cramer paced the Bluebirds with three first-half TD passes as Highlands scored 29 second-quarter points to seal the deal versus the Eagles. Senior running back Cooper Scwalbach added 64 yards and a TD on the round.
LUDLOW 45, LOUISVILLE HOLY CROSS 34
The Panthers registered almost 500 yards of offense to pick up their first home playoff since 1986 in a 45-34 defeat of the visiting Cougars. Senior running back Sean Stratton amassed 262 yards and a touchdown on 34 carries in the win. Classmate Will Richardson added eight catches for 194 yards.
