2022 Video Snapshot: Moeller

An improbable run to a regional championship in 2021 has Moeller aiming for even loftier achievements this fall. The Crusaders are loaded on offense and deep on defense. They have the tools to some heavy damage once again.

A challenging schedule will toughen up Big Moe come playoff time. The combined 2021 record of the Crusaders opponents was 93-40 (.699 winning percentage). They will face five teams that won at least 10 games a year ago.

HONOR ROLL
Tennel Bryant
, Sr, WR – One of the toughest receivers in the state to cover. Bryant set a single season school record with 71 receptions for 896 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. He was named OPSWA Division I Honorable Mention All-Ohio for his efforts. Bryant has 104 catches, 1,387 receiving yards, 18 touchdown receptions and 1,604 all-purpose yards in his career. He has offers from Air Force, Army, APSU, Central Michigan, UMass, Navy and Toledo.

Joe Ginnetti, Sr, LB – Emerged as one of the leaders of the Crusaders defense in 2021. Ginnetti was in on 108 total tackles and had four takeaways (two FRs, two INTs) as a junior. He was named OPSWA Division I Honorable Mention All-Ohio. Ginnetti has offers from Air Force, Akron, Central Michigan and Dartmouth.

Jordan Marshall, Jr, RB – Arguably the top running back in the Buckeye state in the Class of 2024. Marshall can do it all. As a sophomore he ran for 1,155 yards, had 23 receptions for 427 yards and found the end zone 22 times (15 rush, seven rec) on his way to OPSWA Division I Honorable Mention All-Southwest District, Third Team All-TSF (RB) and TSF Cincy OPOY finalist accolades. Marshall’s offers include Akron, Boston College, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (OH), Missouri, Northwestern, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, Toledo and Vanderbilt.

John Currin, Sr, OL – The leader and anchor of the offensive line. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Currin was a First Team All-GCL South selection as a junior. He has an offer from Butler.

Alec Weeder, Sr, WR/RS – Lightning in a bottle, Weeder can do damage in so many different ways. He amassed 1,302 all-purpose yards (718 rush, 115 rec, 469 ret) and had nine touchdowns (eight rush, one rec) as a junior. He was named Second Team All-GCL South. Weeder picked up his first offer from Butler.

Thomas Biel, Sr, OL – A returning starter on an o-line that paved the way for the Big Moe O to average 379.6 yards of total offense per game in 2021. Biel was named Second Team All-GCL South. He has verbally committed to Holy Cross.

Brandon Martin, Sr, DL – The Crusaders top returning pass rusher. Martin registered 51 total tackles, had five-and-a-half sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery on his way to Second Team All-GCL South accolades as a junior. He has offers from Army and Tennessee-Martin.

Matthew Seliga, Sr, DB – Nothing gets past this dependable tackler. Seliga had 84 total tackles and a fumble recovery as a junior. He was named. Second Team All-GCL South. Seliga has offers from Army, Bucknell, Dartmouth, Duquesne, Fordham, Holy Cross and Navy. 

OTHER RETURNEES
Isaiah Summerlin
, Sr, DB – A big body who roams the secondary looking for receivers to blow up. Summerlin, who has offers from Akron, Duquesne, Illinois State and Penn had 17 total tackles and three takeaways (two NT, one FR) a year ago.

Lamont Cox, Sr, DB – A main part of a very good and experienced secondary. Cox tallied 52 total tackles, forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles as a junior.  He has offers from Butler, Tiffin, Fairmont State, University of Charleston and Notre Dame College.

Peyton Wilp, Sr, DL – A healthy Wilp will be an added bonus along the d-line. In limited action a year ago he still managed to record two-and-a-half sacks. The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Wilp has offers from Army and Cornell.

Carson Titus, Sr, OL – The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Titus is one of five returning starters on a o-line that was out in front on 65 offensive touchdowns (36 pass, 29 rush) and 31.6 points per game in 2021.

NEWCOMERS
Jewett Hayes, Jr, DL – Look for a breakout junior campaign from Hayes who has excellent bloodlines. He has picked up offers from Iowa and Kentucky.

Karson Hobbs, Jr, DB – Will slide into a starting role in the secondary this fall. Hobbs picked up his first offer from Marshall this offseason.
