The Wyoming Cowboys overcame a 21-7 deficit through three quarters to pick up a road win at host Ross on Friday night.
Lucas Kunkel led the charge for Ross early as the running back scored on a pair of 1-yard runs in the first half. Ross held a 14-0 lead and all the momentum early. The Cowboys responded with a David Dupee touchdown run as the quarterback had a 5-yard scamper to cut the deficit to seven at the half.
Carter Gipson’s touchdown in the third gave Ross a 21-7 lead and a riled up crowd but the Cowboys were ready to answer. Jackson Hamilton scored on a 1-yard rush and Cameron Maupin returned a fumble for a touchdown to tie the game at 21.
CJ Woodside’s 34-yard field goal proved to be the winning points as he knocked one squarely through the uprights with eight seconds remaining in the game to secure the win.
