2025 Video Snapshot: La Salle

They won’t be the biggest team on the field most nights but La Salle will have more than enough speed to make up for what they lack in size. The Lancers must replace seven starters on both sides of the ball from a team that went to the Division II regional finals a year ago. The good news for head coach Pat McLaughlin and his staff is that this team has a slew of returnees who didn’t start in 2024 but played meaningful snaps that are eager to show that they are ready for the Friday spotlights.

Division II, Region 8
2024 RECORD: 11-2, 1-2 GCL South;
COACH: Pat McLaughlin (59-37 at La Salle, eight years; 78-49 overall, 11 years)

TOP RETURNEES
Hunter Ogdan, Sr, TE/DE – Will be a focal point of the offense. A big target at 6-foot-5 and 220-pounds, Ogdan has 18 receptions for 187 yards and two touchdowns in his career. He has committed to Army.

Max Kief, Sr, OL – A returning starter who helped pave the way for a Lancers offense that averaged 319.1 yards of total offense per game in 2024. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound Kief has FCS offers from Butler and Cornell.

Wes Satterfield, Sr, OL – A returning starter, the 6-foot, 320-pound Satterfield will be counted on to open holes for the running game. He has an offer from Franklin College.

Drew Dipzinski, Sr, WR – A healthy Dipzinski adds depth to the receiving core. He had eight receptions for 115 yards in five games as a junior.

Avier Carter, Sr, ATH –  One of the most athletic Lancers, Carter will battle for the starting quarterback  job. He had 18 receptions for 305 yards and three touchdowns as a junior.

Dereion Spraggs, Sr, DLA team captain and leader of the defense. Spraggs has all-district talent. He has offers from Thomas More, St. Mary of-the-Woods, Lawrence Tech and Indiana Wesleyan.

Caleb Troehler, Sr, DB – Had an excellent first year as a starter recording 38 tackles, 1.5 tackles for losses and two pass breakups a year ago.

Claude Moore, Sr, DB – Teams with Troehler, to give the Lancers a rock solid nucleus in the secondary. As a junior, Moore had 26 tackles, one forced fumble, four pass breakups and two interceptions including a pick-six against Anderson in the regional title game.

Shabbar Jones, Sr, LB – Is primed for a breakout senior campaign. Jones could be one of the most pleasant surprises in the GCL South this fall.

Rahmiir Murphy, Jr, OL – Another big man in the trenches who is back for his second year as a starter. The 6-foot-2, 315-pound Murphy was a huge factor in a Lancers offense that produced 46 touchdowns (31 rush, 15 pass) in 2024.

Jordan Hall, Jr, RB – Could emerge as the Lancers number one option out of the backfield. Hall ran for 99 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore.

NEWCOMERS
Seniors OL Spencer Rega, RB David Malone, LB Colin Wooldridge, WR Taron Lester, DL Wyatt Dabbelt along with juniors WR/DB Jack McLaughlin, DB K’Mahri Price and LB Javion Presswood have all had brief moments at the varsity level and now get the chance to show that they can do it consistently on Friday nights. Malone had three rushing touchdowns as a junior. Classmate Wooldridge also had a rushing touchdown and 12 tackles a year ago.
